WHEN WILL WE SEE THE NEW AUDIO RELAY SERVICE IN DENVER - ivarevan@yahoo.com - 07-27-2020

GREETINGS JAM KAZAM-

I am slowly building a community of very talented people in Denver Colorado who use Jam Kazam.   We are refining and optimizing our set ups and are getting very very close to having true real time experiences on a more consistent basis.

At this stage we are all in town and getting to the 25ms mark on average.  Some users hit below 20-17ms, Its ever so close!  But playing with a remote drummer continues to be challenging.  we all hit the yellow indicator mostly with flickering green...

The bottom line is that we know we are so very close geographically and we need that extra push to get our local connections optimized and as fast as possible.  i have three questions if you have time...

 1)  is the new audio relay system close to deployment?
2)   Can a group of Denver musicians help test ?
3)  how much more latency reduction might we get with the new deployment if we are hitting 20-25ms?

thank you for your time
evan

From the latest email:

"We are writing to share some exciting news. Using funds from the GoFundMe that some of you have supported, we are releasing early this week an update to our Windows and Mac applications that incorporates the first stage of the solution to reduce Internet latency between musicians in JamKazam sessions. To be clear, this first stage of the release targets the collection of a massive amount of latency data that will quantify in detail the latency gains that we can deliver. Based on this data, we plan to move forward with the full deployment of the new service that will actually reduce latency in sessions. We are hopeful that we can do this by the end of July or early August."

The third question is very interesting.

And will it mean the most at short or long distances? Or what?

What about wireless? Wi-Fi 6, 5G, etc. Is it affected by the new technic / technology?

Tips:

Having the same internet provider usually provides better connections.
